Refund Policy

Screen Guardian’s core mechanism is a self-imposed lock that is irreversible until the timer you chose expires. This creates an unusual refund situation. Read these three points before purchasing:
- Cancelling your subscription does NOT end an active commitment. Your Screen Time lock keeps running to its scheduled unlock date even after you cancel or refund the subscription. This is by design — the whole point is that you can’t abandon the commitment mid-flight.
- We cannot “undo” an active commitment as part of a refund. A refund on the money is possible (see windows below); the passcode release schedule is not negotiable.
- Statutory refund rights in your jurisdiction may apply regardless of what this page says. See §5 below.
1. Refund windows by plan
- Monthly plan ($19 / month): cancel any time from Settings; billing stops at the end of the current period. The current month already paid is non-refundable unless required by law (see §5).
- 6-month plan ($84 every 6 months): same mechanism. Cancellation stops future renewals; the current 6-month term already paid is non-refundable unless required by law.
- 12-month plan ($108 billed annually): same treatment as the 6-month plan. Cancellation stops future renewals; the current annual term is non-refundable unless required by law.
- Lifetime plan ($287 one-time): 7-day money-back guarantee from the purchase date, provided (a) you have not activated any commitment during the 7 days, OR (b) any activated commitment has been ended and no sealed passcode is still held on your behalf. Once a commitment is active, we cannot end it early even to effect a refund; the money can be returned but the lock keeps running.
2. How to request a refund
Email support@screen-guardian.app from the address on your account within the applicable window, with your order reference. We aim to reply within 2 business days.
Approved refunds are processed via the original payment method through our payment provider, Dodo Payments. Settlement time depends on your bank and the provider’s processing schedule and is typically 5–10 business days.
3. Chargebacks & disputes
If you dispute a charge with your bank instead of contacting us, the payment provider’s dispute process applies. Please reach out to us first — direct refunds are faster and cleaner for everyone. When a chargeback is filed we may submit transaction evidence (order record, timestamps, service logs) to the payment provider to respond to the dispute; we do not submit the contents of your commitment or any personal data beyond what the dispute requires.
4. What is NOT refundable, even inside the window
- Time already served on an active commitment. If your 30-day commitment activated on day 1 and you seek a refund on day 10, the fact that 10 days of lock time already ran is not treated as “a defect in the service.” The service worked exactly as intended.
- Affiliate commissions paid to referring affiliates before a refund is processed may be clawed back per the affiliate terms.
5. Statutory withdrawal rights (EU / UK / Mexico / others)
Regardless of the windows in §1, you may have non-waivable statutory rights:
- EU / UK: the Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU, as transposed in each member state; UK: Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013) grants a 14-day right of withdrawal on distance-sold digital services. When you check the acknowledgement to begin setup, you expressly request that the service start immediately and acknowledge that you will lose the right of withdrawal to the extent the service has already been performed. Any amount corresponding to service not yet performed at the time you exercise the right is refundable.
- Mexico: the Ley Federal de Protección al Consumidor grants a 5-business-day withdrawal window on certain distance contracts.
- Other jurisdictions may grant similar or different rights; where they do, we will honor them.
6. Changes to this policy
Refund terms in effect at the time of your purchase apply to that purchase. Changes announced later apply only to purchases made after their effective date.
